Starting an EBay Business For Dummies

Some people have been laid off at work due to recession. The sad news is that most of these people find it hard to go back to work because of their age and their lack of experience. These people have been in their companies for years now and the only experiences they have are that of their company. Most of these people were also shocked by the recession and have not even given much thought on how they would continue on with their daily lives while paying monthly dues with the little saving that they have. Fortunately, there is good news and the good news is starting an eBay business.

If you used to be an eBay buyer, you would totally understand the concept of eBay. However, if you do not go online and buy things from eBay then you must be educated first before joining the eBay bandwagon. Before you start an eBay business, you must know that this can take a lot of your time at first but once you get the hang of it, it will just be easy and just a breeze. All you will need is a little effort and you will be surprised as to how much income you would get in no time with a little starting point of course.

So here is a 101 on starting an eBay business:

1) What will you sell?

First of all, you must think about what products you will sell. In eBay, you can sell anything from shoes, bags, accessories, computers, gadgets, collectibles and other normal to weird stuffs. If you have been just laid off to work and you have so many stuffs you won’t be able to use anymore like probably your work clothes and office shoes, you can sell that in eBay. You can sell second hand items in eBay and also new stuff. At first, you can start with second hands stuffs first so you do not need to shell off some money. Then eventually if you succeed in your business, you can sell first hand items.

2) How to post the pictures?

Second, you have to make sure that the photos you put of your items would be attractive. Make sure that there is good lighting, color and contrast. The picture that you put of your item can make or break your selling streak. Apart from the picture, you should be putting details of the items too. Be specific especially if it is a delicate item. For instance, if you are selling some vintage items, indicate the year when it was acquired and so on.

3) How much will it go for?

The price is one of the main things you should think about too. Can people still bargain for the price or is it fixed already? Is your item up for auction? These are the three possible ways to indicate the price of your item and it is all up to you to choose.

Starting an eBay business is much more fun than you think. Sure, you have to make an effort but once you are earning, you’ll forget all about that.
